| Property Description
Driving through the rolling hills of the Walhonding Valley you'll suddenly see a scene reminiscent of New England. A large white farmhouse sits tucked into the hillside under ancient oak and maple trees. It was built by hand entirely of white and red oak timbers cut and milled on the property. The house was designed with generous proportions, and emphasis on the natural oak woodwork throughout. The original farm house holds seven of our guest rooms, and the former chicken barn holds three romantic and secluded rooms.
Two luxury log cabin cottages with fireplaces and whirlpool tubs are ideal for honeymoons and romantic getaways. All rooms have private bathrooms, air conditioning in summer, and TV/DVD combinations.
The inn's large common room with blazing fire and piles of books and magazines invites you to curl up in a chair with your favorite reading material and enjoy a homebaked cookie. The antique square grand piano sits waiting to be played. A long front porch with gliders and rockers provides a place to watch the hummingbirds and enjoy the country air.
Fresh flowers grace the dining room tables, where hearty country breakfasts and generous evening dinners are served. Herbs from the inn gardens garnish the plates and flavor the wonderful dishes created for your enjoyment.
It's a peaceful quiet place, a place to recharge your batteries, rediscover romance, and wake up refreshed.
Throughout the year we offer special events like Wine and Cheese weekends, murder mysteries, cooking classes, and nature weekends. It's a perfect location for an elopement, wedding, family reunion or business retreat. Our elopement package includes everything you need for the perfect romantic wedding for two.

Bicycling / Jogging Trails (5 minutes) - The Kokosing Gap Trail is a 14 miles paved Rails to Trails about 6 miles from the inn. Mohican Valley Trail is a hard-packed 4 1/2 mile trail starting 8 miles from the inn.

Boating (5 minutes) - Canoeing is available on the Kokosing River. Canoes can be rented at a nearby livery.

|
Fine Dining (On Site) - The Inn is well known for its dining. We were voted one of the top 50 inns in the U.S. and have been featured on TV.

Fishing (5 minutes) - The Kokosing River is an excellent small-mouth bass river.

Golf Course (30 minutes) - Knox County is home to 8 very reasonably priced public golf courses, with something for golfers of every level of expertise. Courses include Apple Valley and Chapel Hill.

Health Spa / Massage (On Site) - In-room massage is available at the inn.

Horseback Riding (15 minutes) - There are several stables near to the inn.

Horseback Riding (25 minutes) - Go riding in the Mohican State Forest. About 25 minutes from the inn.

Nature Preserves / Trails (On Site) - We are 6 miles from the Kokosing Gap Trail and 8 miles from the Mohican Valley Trail. We are 30 minutes from Mohican State Park and Malabar Farm.

Other Activities (20 minutes) - We can arrange an Amish Country tour including a meal in an Amish Home. We are close to Roscoe Village and Longaberger Baskets. The area has many antique and gift shops.

Theater (On Site) - In addition to our popular murder mysteries, the inn also offers overnight packages including theater events such as Dickens Christmas Carol and Legends of Sleepy Hollow

Water Activities (5 minutes) - Go tubing or canoeing on the Kokosing or Mohican Rivers.

Wine Tasting (40 minutes) - Raven's Glenn, Rainbow Hills, Shawnee Springs and Breitenbach wineries are all a short drive from the inn
