Blue Moon Full Moon Paddle
Sep 1, 2012
7-9:30pm. Meet in the parking lot of the park office. In only 7 of every 19 years, two full moons will fall in the same calendar month. This is known as a ?blue moon,? and is the phenomena behind the expression ?once in a blue moon.? Don?t miss this chance to take part in one of nature?s exclusive events! Sunset?s glowing colors shower onto the water surrounding your kayak as dusk slowly encompasses you. Stars sparkle over your head. Paddle east quietly until the moon rises on the horizon and transforms into a full moon, sending a stream of light across the water before you. We?ll paddle for two hours, with a stop along the way to have snacks. No experience needed and all equipment (including glow sticks and lights), instruction and snacks are provided.
