Jul 10, 2013
1 1/2 to 2 hrs per session. Kids age 7-12 years old are invited to join in on the fun planned at the Bishop Educational Gardens this summer. Every other Wednesday through Aug. 14, the Hocking Soil Water Conservation District Specialist will be leading activities like hiking, planting herbs, making toad abodes, creating bandanas through flower pounding, building forts, bottle cap art and more. Registration is required, but programs are FREE. Space may be limited based on available supplies. Call our office to register your child or for more information. The Summer Series is designed to get kids outdoors, in the garden, and keep their creative juices flowing while school is out. Children younger than 7 are welcome with an attentive adult. July 10 - Flower Pounding - Create a unique bandana / flag using flowers to dye it. July 24 - Bottle Cap Art - Millions of plastic bottles are thrown away every year. Youth will be able to create their own works of art using these colorful caps. Aug. 14 - Let Us Build a Fort - Who does not love building a fort Bring a picnic lunch or snack and we will build our own forts from natural and recycled materials found in the garden, then have a picnic lunch together.
