General W. T.Sherman Memorial Civil War Roundtable

7pm. Professor Leonne Hudson of Kent State University will talk about the reaction of black soldiers to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Professor Hudson received his B.A. at Voorhees College and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Kent State University. His specialty is 19th century U.S. history. His research interests include the Mexican War and the Civil War era, particularly the military contributions of black troops to the Union effort. The Gen. William T. Sherman Memorial Civil War Roundtable meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month (does not meet months of June, July, August and December). The CWRT promotes interest in the American Civil War and the rich history surrounding it. The CWRT members meet to study all aspects of the Civil War. A social time, refreshments, and a meet-and-greet are featured at each meeting. Everyone is welcome. For further information or to be added to an email list please call.
