Welcome!
We take pride in putting together special vacations. Whether it's a romantic weekend for two, or a full-blown family reunion for 20. Whatever your plans, we can make all the arrangements. We've been doing this for 25 years, so we've gotten pretty good at it!

We can arrange private tours of Amish Country with dinner in an Amish home, or history tours of Loudonville, or nature tours on the backwoods trails at Mohican State Park. Or, if you prefer peace and quiet, we'll let you have the parlors all to yourselves. You'll enjoy the books. We have a great collection of Ohioana, and three great parlors to enjoy them in.
Blackfork Inn News
SHOPPING NEWS: We're still having our book sale at The Blackfork Inn -- everything from collector's editions and Ohio historical tomes to recent novels and non-fiction. So guests are welcome to browse the bookshelves and make me an offer. Some antique furnishings are on sale, as well.

Did you know about the neat new shops downtown? And the recent influx of artists who ply their trades and sell their wares? For unique and treasured gifts, we suggest you
take the time to stroll our pretty Victorian Main Street, and visit the artist's studios you'll find listed at our website, www.blackforkinn.com.

We also recommend the unique crafters in Amish Country, as well as the bargains at the expanded Outlet Mall at Lodi, just half an hour away. For a copy of our new visitor's guide, call 877-2MOHICAN or see www.loudonville-mohican.com.

Property Description
We have two buildings, across from one another on North Water Street, three blocks from Loudonville's pretty Victorian Main Street. (see more photos at www.Blackforkinn.com) Blackfork I is elegant with high ceilings, original stunning hand-grained woodwork and sumptuous reproduction wallpapers, some made with silks and linen. The furnishings include the fruits of the innkeepers' 40 years of collecting, including some early English and American treasures and loads of Victoriana, plus a wonderful collection of books that makes some guests want to stay a few more days, just to read. Blackfork II is an 1847 house that was once a saloon for the railroad. Its decor is Early Victorian/Country, with original wood floors (pine and oak) and pristine Greek-Revival style woodwork. Blackfork I has six guest rooms, each with private baths. The entire original house (parlors, library, dining room) is for guests' use; the innkeepers' quarters are in a newer addition. Blackfork II has a large communal gathering room for guests in the part of the building that was once a saloon, as well as two 3-room guest suites, both with breakfast rooms and private baths. Both look out onto herb garden and small patio. Outdoor seating gives guests a wonderful view of small-town activities and trains passing neighboring former station site.

Check In / Check Out:

Children:
Although primarily a place for grownups' getaways, we will consider requests on an individual basis
Credit Cards:
mastercard, visa, discover
General Policies:
CHILDREN: Although Blackfork Inn is primarily a grownups' getaway, we do make provisions for children, as part of a family gathering, or with prior arrangements. CANCELLATIONS: Because we are a small inn, with only 6 rooms and 2 suites, we do take special care to insure that reservations are honored (by us, and by you). This means we must employ certain restrictions on busy weekends, so that we are not left holding empty rooms on Fridays and Sundays in order to satisfy folks who want to book a room for just a one-night stay on a Saturday night. We DO understand that sometimes a one-day trip is necessary, and we do try to accommodate those visitors, but we cannot guarantee a specific room for those who are booking for Saturday night only. We also require a 48-hour notice if you need to cancel a weekend reservation. This gives us time to fill the room. Cancellations made after that deadline may result in the loss of your deposit. We've made our cancellation policy as fair as we can. And we are sure you will understand why these restrictions are necessary -- if you consider the conditions of running a small inn, with high demand and limited rooms available on weekends. PETS: We've been welcoming well behaved dogs and cats for 23 years, with prior arrangements, and we've enjoyed having them. But, our housekeeping does not enjoy the added cleaning involved (long-haired dogs and cats really cause a big problem with carpets, bedding etc) So we will now be adding a $20 surcharge, where necessary, to cover the added work of cleanup.
Directions to Blackfork Inn
Loudonville is halfway between Cleveland and Columbus on the old 3C Highway (Ohio Rte 3), and midway between Amish Country to the East and Mansfield to the West. Just 90-minutes from both Cleveland and Columbus, the little town is easy to get to from both I-77 and I-71. Once you're in town, you'll find the inn just three blocks north of Main Street (State Rt.39) Turn north on Water St---at the Farmer's Bank---and proceed north to Washington St. The Inn is on the corner of North Water & West Washington Streets. CAVEAT EMPTOR: Mapquest and GPS can be grossly misleading! If you want the surest directions, ask us. We know our way around, better than any computer does!
